To maximize your child’s safety, you may want to make sure that none of their supplies, clothing, or toys have been recalled. The internet makes this extraordinarily simple. Here are four websites to check.
Safe Kids compiles monthly lists of recalled items from three different federal agencies. You can check out archived lists as far back as 2008.
The children’s section of We Make It Safer lists recalled items. It also has a search option on the homepage that allows you to enter items that you own to check for recalls, as well as receive alerts if a recall ever occurs.
This website has great resources for all things pregnancy, including a product recall finder. The finder is especially useful if you receive hand-me-downs and want to make sure they have not been recalled.
The U.S CPSC has a listing of everything being recalled. Not only can you check for baby supply recalls, but almost any household goods you could think of.
To some parents, checking for recalls can seem unnecessary and like a waste of time. But making sure that your child is safe is never a waste of time. Take a few minutes each month to review at least one of these lists and give yourself peace of mind.
